Price estimate in under 60 seconds

Choose what you want to build, how big it will be and which add-ons you need. The estimate is based on the hours we spend on projects like this, at NOK 1,490 an hour.

Work out your price in the estimate. Would you rather describe the project in your own words? Write what you need in the same estimate, and you see the price straight away.

Price examples: how we calculate

We price in hours. The hours are based on time we have logged on earlier projects, and the hourly rate is NOK 1,490 excl. VAT. The amounts are rounded to the nearest thousand. Once we have seen your project, you get a quote with an estimate in hours and kroner.

Example 1: Business website with up to 10 pages

PartHours
Kick-off and project management3–5 h
Prototype and design4–7 h
Build and content, up to 10 pages5–8 h
Quality check: accessibility, Google and AI3–5 h
Total15–25 h = NOK 22,000–37,000, 3–6 weeks

Example 2: Larger business website with an English version and help with the copy

The same base, with more page types (3–6 h), more languages (4–8 h) and help with the copy (3–6 h). In total 25–45 hours, so NOK 37,000–67,000 and 6–10 weeks.

Example 3: Online shop with under 50 products, Vipps, cards and Bring

The base from example 1, plus setting up the online shop (10–14 h), Vipps (Norway's mobile payment app) and card payments (2–4 h), and shipping with Bring, the parcel service of the Norwegian postal service (2–4 h). In total 29–47 hours, so NOK 43,000–70,000 and 6–10 weeks. Without the Bring setup it is NOK 40,000–64,000.

The examples are typical projects, not named clients.

What makes the price go up or down?

Factors that affect the price of a website: design, number of pages, functionality and visibility shown as sliders

The number of pages rarely decides the price. These five things matter most:

  1. How many different page types you need. Front page, service page, article and contact are four layouts. Ten service pages that look the same are still one.
  2. Who writes the copy. If you have text and images ready, it goes faster and costs less. If you need help, we add it as a separate line.
  3. Features. A contact form is included. Payment, shipping, login and integrations with other systems are extra work.
  4. More languages. Each language has to be set up, translated and tested.
  5. Whether we build on something you already have. If we can reuse design or content, it takes fewer hours.

This is what the add-ons look like with us:

Add-onHoursPrice (excl. VAT)
Help with the copy3–6 hNOK 4,000–9,000
More languages4–8 hNOK 6,000–12,000
Shipping with Bring2–4 hNOK 3,000–6,000

Integration with accounting is an estimate. We have not delivered enough of them yet to have a firm figure.

Agency, freelancer, website builder or subscription?

Building a website yourself versus having it delivered: a half-finished site and a lot of time spent versus a finished website

There are four common ways to get a website. They cost different amounts, and they put the responsibility in different places.

OptionHow you payTypical priceWorth knowing
Agency with a one-off priceOne sum for the website, maintenance on topMedian about NOK 19,000 for the lowest package at Norwegian agencies. With us NOK 22,000–37,000You own the site. Check what is included after launch.
FreelancerOne-off price or by the hourOften a lower hourly rate than an agency (Webagent)One person knows everything about your site. Get ownership of the domain and code in writing.
Website builderMonthly priceNOK 130–380/month (Uniweb)Cheapest in kroner, but you spend your own time.
SubscriptionFixed monthly price, low or no start-up feeNOK 799/month + VAT at Smartbyrå. NOK 559–959/month + NOK 6,999–8,999 start-up at UniwebMaintenance is included. Check what happens to the site if you cancel.

We build on WordPress, and if the site needs more speed or custom features, we use Next.js. Either way, you own the website, the domain and the content yourself.

What does the website cost after launch?

A website has to be updated, backed up and looked after. With us, maintenance is optional, and there are three plans (website maintenance):

  • Passive: from NOK 699/month. Web hosting with automatic updates and daily backups, without monthly maintenance.
  • Active: from NOK 1,790/month. We maintain the site every month and keep an eye on uptime and errors.
  • Premium: from NOK 4,799/month. Everything in Active, plus two development hours and a status call every month.

All prices are + VAT and apply to sites we have built. On Active and Premium, online shops and other advanced solutions may cost extra. On top of this comes the domain, which often costs NOK 150–300 a year for a .no domain, Norway's country domain (Webagent).

Calculate over three years, not just the invoice. A new business website at NOK 22,000–37,000 with Passive (NOK 699 × 36 months = NOK 25,164) costs around NOK 47,000–62,000 over three years. With Active (NOK 1,790 × 36 = NOK 64,440) it comes to around NOK 86,000–101,000. Use the same calculation on other quotes: the one-off price plus 36 times the monthly price.

A new website when you already have one

Many people who ask about price already have a website. Three things affect what it costs to switch:

  • The content can often be reused. Text, images and structure from your current site make the job shorter, as long as you can get them out.
  • The domain has to be yours. If it is registered with the old provider, it has to be moved. Start on that early.
  • Old addresses have to be redirected. Pages that are in Google today should point to the new addresses. If this is forgotten, you can lose visitors you have spent years building up.

In the estimate you can choose that we build on the site you already have, and design and build are then taken out of the estimate.

How to compare quotes

Two quotes for "a website" rarely contain the same thing. Ask about this before you sign:

  1. Is the price excl. or incl. VAT?
  2. Is it a fixed price, or a starting point before scoping?
  3. What is included after launch, and what does an ordinary change cost?
  4. Who writes the copy? If the answer is "you", you should know before you start.
  5. Who owns the domain, the content and the code when the agreement ends?
  6. Do you need a maintenance agreement to be able to buy the site?

We have also gathered the prices from 17 Norwegian agencies in a survey of agency prices for 2026, published in Norwegian.

Homepage price and website price: the same thing

"Homepage" and "website" mean the same thing when you are buying. The prices on this page apply to both. What decides the price is what the site has to do, not what it is called.

Is there a website price calculator?
